Information on interpretation & translation services for foreign civil petitioners

If a foreign civil petitioner (including children of a multicultural family) visiting the civil affairs office of the Gyeongsangnamdo Office of Education has difficulty in communicating, convenient services are provided for various civil petitions such as issuing certificates by supporting phone interpretation services and providing translated copies of civil petition application forms.

Interpretation service support

  • Support details : When there is a need for professional counseling including a foreign civil petitioner’s request for simple civil petitions, and a request for civil petition counseling and system improvement, a foreign interpreter fluent in Korean provides interpretation services for voice or video calls via cellphone.
  • Supported languages : 6 languages (English, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Filipino, Russian)

Utilization of National Sinmungo (e-People petition system) foreign language civil petition translation service

  • If a foreign language civil petition form submitted by a foreigner residing in Korea or a Korean national residing abroad is received, it is processed by utilizing the National Sinmungo (e-People petition system) translation service.
  • Translation target : Korean→English translation, other foreign language & Korean translation (※ English→Korean translation excluded.)

    Submission of civil petition:

    Foreigner civil petition submission via National Sinmungo (e-People petition system)

  2. 02

    Request for foreign language civil petition translation:

    Person in charge of processing->Access National Sinmungo (for civil affairs) -> Register request for foreign language civil petition translation on bulletin board.

  3. 03

    Check translation result:

    National Sinmungo (e-People petition system) translation company -> Person in charge of processing checks reply in bulletin board where translation was requested.

    Reply to civil petition:

    Person in charge of civil petitions -> Civil petitioner
