Bank Account

Documents to bring
- Passport (Submit ARC # Later)
- 재직증명서 “Jae–Jik–Jeung–Myung–Suh”–Proof of employment, your school's administration office can provide this.
Setting Up an Account

If you go by yourself, you can say, “통장만들어주세요”, “Tong–Jang Man–Doo–Ruh–Joo–Say–Yo”which means, ‘please make me an account’.
- Normal banking hours are Mon–Fri, 9am–4pm. As these times coincide with your work schedule, you will need to do most of your banking during school hours (get permission from a co-teacher/principal), and or find a bank that operates on a weekend.
Sending Money Home
- In order to transfer funds to an overseas account, you must know the SWIFT code of your home bank. There will of course be a fee involved with transferring money.
- You may also want to ask your Korean bank if they have a foreigner remittance program. If they do, you can simply set up an account, and every time you place funds into this account, it will automatically transfer to your home bank.
