The settlement allowance is usually given to GET’s within the first month of their first contract to assist with the financial costs of moving to Korea.

A leased house/apartment/studio or "One-room" as it’s known in Korea, full-option. Utilities and Maintenance fees are not provided for and are the responsibility of the GET.
- Size of housing may vary depending on location.
- Full option housing means your one room will be furnished. However, the type of furniture will vary. For example, some places may provide beds, while others will not. It depends on the location.

Upon successful completion of a contract, GET’s will receive a severance payment equal to approximately one month’s salary around 14 days after your final paycheck.
As with the entrance allowance, upon completion of the contract, IF the GET decides to return home, a 1,300,000 exit allowance will be provided, paid within a month from the end date of the contract. Proof of departure must be provided.

Airplane costs as well as moving costs can be expensive. To alleviate the financial stress, the GOE will provide \1,300,000, usually paid within the first month.
- To prevent early termination of the contract, the entrance allowance is issued as a loan from the employer to the GET. In the event the contract is terminated within the first six months, including renewal contracts, regardless of the course or grounds, GET’s will be required to immediately repay the aforementioned loan to the school.
As with the entrance allowance, upon completion of the contract, IF the GET decides to return home, a 1,300,000 exit allowance will be provided, paid within 30 days of the end of the contract. Proof of departure must be provided.

Upon completion of your first contract, you will receive 1,300,000 within a month of the completion date.
When you complete your renewal contract (2nd year and after) you will be eligible to receive a total of 2,000,000 won. 1,300,000 (contract completion) and 700,000 won (renewal completion bonus).
When you renew, the 1,300,000 won is referred to as contract completion bonus but if your not renewing, then the term changes to exit allowance.
After completion of your final contract, you will receive 1,300,000 won only once.

GET’s are allowed 11 days sick leave. You must get permission from your employer at least an hour before school begins. After using 3 sick leaves, subsequent sick leaves must be confirmed with a doctor’s note.
